Don’t let young, sweetly-named New Yorkers Beau fool you into thinking they are the kind of female duo that make sugary sweet folk songs. Striking musicians Hannah Boo and Emma Rose in fact deal with off-beat rock, riddled with both bluesy and DIY elements throughout. Beautifully fresh and direct, they release their album That Thing Reality on 11th March via French label Kitsuné and the latest single from it, ‘Sweet Lips’ has some serious attitude. There is something reminiscent of Liz Phair in their "don’t care" delivery and teenage angst-filled lyrics, but where Phair is more morose, these two are more upbeat in their treatment.
